Choosing a wedding cake isn't just about design and flavour; there are several other
factors that need to be taken into consideration when deciding on the wedding cake
that best suits your needs.
The decision process should include considering and discussing a few key areas with your chosen Cake - maker, they are:
• Number of Guests
• Design/style - cake designs on websites or photos/magazine clippings of design elements that you like.
• Budget and Options - for example, you could have a lovely 3 - tier wedding cake and undressed (no icing) cakes on the side, to be cut up and put in cake boxes for guests. This could significantly reduce the total amount you spend.
• Size or number of tiers - this is usually based on your estimated number of guests.
• Cake flavours, colours and fillings
• Types of frostings - butter cream, fondant, royal icing.
• Accents - fresh flowers, gum paste flowers, edible beading.
• Cake topper styles - traditional, fresh floral, sugared fruit.
• Delivery & setup - usually the hall decorator provides a decorated table.
• Cake presentation - By MC or Cake vendor
